The only thing I know about them is Coronation St actor Mike Le Vell is a director & that they charge £295 for any unenforceable or unfair credit agreement case and the client keeps 100 per cent of any settlement, which doesn't seem to be a great deal when you can do it yourself.

I sent a form to Ratio Money in December 2008 along with £ 295. In February thhe credit agreement was audited and was found to have breaches. I have heard nothing from them since!

I have called them countless times and no-one seems to know what is happening with my case. They always promise to phone back but no-one EVER has. The only times that they called was prior to me sending them the cheque.

I spoke to their complaints department 2 weeks ago and was advised that if I hadnt heard from a solicitor within 2 weeks to call them back.Guess what-still no solicitor!!

They claim to keep the customer updated every step of the way-this is not so in my case.

I dont think I'll see my 300 quid again!!!!!!!!!!!

I would strongly advise everyone to steer clear of this company.

Hi I am a competitor of Ratio Money (Blah ,Blah, Blah )but I will pretend to be a customer who has had a bad service (yawn, yawn!)

Ratio Money is the only CMC to have a retained QC...

Ratio Money has probably 75% of the ATE insurance available in the market place...

Competitors who have set up will soon find out that none of their claims can ever be insured, so if you lose you pay!

Ratio Money has the only cases of Debt Written off that can be proven by judicial publications...

Ratio Money is proud of what it does and thousands of consumers will have success using that company...

Chickenboy grow up and go and find some ATE insurance :-)

Please look at ratiomoney website for case of Mitchell v hbos, Judge Langham transcript can be found on here... Judgement on costs and he slammed Hbos for coming close to abusing the judicial process... Ratio panel of solicitors consists of over 100 firms and David Berkley QC is retained by Ratio hence the reason he was involved in the Mitchell case... I would attach files etc but on my mobile:)

sorry but Ratio isnt the only company with results like this

I have a case which went to appeal and was won both on the first instance and on appeal.

i also have cases in the High Court too, so i wouldnt say Ratio are the only CMC to have a reported case actually this is clearly inaccurate as MCS and Turner coulstons have a case won in Chester before HHJ Halbert

please get the facts right if you wish to post message in support of CMCs

Ratio Money say that they will refund any fees, less £50,if they cannot find any breaches in your agreement.

After waiting over 7 months they have finally allocated a Solicitor to look at my case, which according to the admin staff who checked it contained several breaches. I have just spoken to the Solicitor and he can find nothing wrong with it and is perplexed as to why Ratio Money think it is unenforceable!

I will be asking for my money back! Going by their track record I'm expecting every excuse under the sun as to why they cant refund me!

Matta 32- if you think they're so great why dont you go and work for them rather than going into competion against them?

I dont need to grow up-you need to wake up!

Chickenboy you are so obviously a competitor... enjoy your posting guys...

are you going to answer the points we have raised Mattja?

Also i cannot see that Chickenboy is "obviously" a competitor, maybe he has a genuine complaint, even the big companies do get it wrong some times lets not forget, just look at banks and CCA enforceability issues;)

I have been a customer of Ratio Money for a long time. This is how they treated me:

-Copies of CCA Agreements: They serve banks with s77/78 requests and as a result, in most cases, they get back copies of leaflets.

-Original CCA Agreements: they never pursue to obtain original signed credit agreements. Without them you cannot be sure whether you have a case or not!

-Auditing of CCA Agreements: they sent the agreements (even copies of leaflets) to a legal firm in the north (I cannot discose their name) who complile a report. They say the audit is done manually. When auditing the leaflets, the legal firm often audits the wrong interest rates. They make a lot of mistakes that even I could spot with my limited legal knowledge. They also take months to compile the reports.

-Allocation of case to legal firms: Then Ratio Money allocates your case to a legal firm for a commission in order to challenge it. This takes months on end because Ratio Money struggles to find good legal firms who will take the case on a no win no fee basis and pay ratio the commission they ask for. Some of the legal firms are very questionable for their competence and tend to specialise in injury claims and not consumer credit. They do not all have the retained services of a barrister and do not pursue with court claims. So the comments that Ratio has the retained services of a QC barrister are misleading. The legal firms they allocate the cases to actually do not necessarily have access even to a barrister. They keep writing around to barristers and take months on end to find one to work on a no win no fee basis (if they ever do).

-Customer Services: Atrocious! They never respond in writing. The principle when you speak to them on the phone is to try to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. They always make up excuses and always ask to call you back. They never do. you weill never get an straight answres or resolutions to complaints. They simply ignore you and hope you will give up complaining.

Most settlement ratio money claims to have are actually done outside court but there is no proof of whatever they claim. The only case that hit the press was the one in Leeds, wher the bank actually sued and they had to defend the client. By then of course it was too late. The client was already defaulted and dragged to court. If you also read the case Ratio Money did not remove the default from the client's credit file. I have had no joy with they services and the services of their allocated solicitor. They have done nothing. No debt was ever written off for me. On the contrary, my banks put all my interest rates up since ratio took the cases.

I recommended two friend to Ratio at the beginning when it all sounded too good. The report no progress in their claims and express similar opinions and experiences. They now blame me for recommending this company.

In my opinion, if you want to pay £295 for nothing, this is who to pay it to.

Don't be rude and offensive to me. Also stop sending me rude private messages just because you do not like what I say.

Ratio money did nothing for me. They merely collected the upfront fee and messed me about for months on end. I do not care how long they stay around. It simply does not do as it says on the tin! Just as long they stay away from me and return my fee back.

If you say you are that good, prove it with your work and leave consumer forums where everyday people get honest advice when messed about by banks, CMC's, solicitors, utility companies, government etc etc etc. alone.

What I said is my own and my friends' personal experiences. Just because we are not legally trained it does not mean we are also stupid and you can mess us about!

This ones gone quiet for a few days....... had been watching to see if Ratio were worth their salt but noted the threads been intercepted by a possible DCA.

Lets be totally honest now - CMC's and DCA'S are much of the same ilk and rely on consumer ignorance. In all honesty would look for a local brief who you can effect a 30 minute consultation with at minimal costs and insure against possible losses at litigation.

If the brief says no you're stuffed then either; accept or seek a second opinion, if after a second opinion you still look to be stuffed seek a charge off or a F&F. Its not rocket science but nor should we fall into the DCA's trap of accepting that their route is the only one.

Don't look for a quick and easy route out of debt - its lazy and you know it.

Most regulars on here have been royally shafted by the banks and deceived to such an extent that they are tired of bending over and taking whatevers coming. Not so sure that CMC's are the answer though.

Its only my opinion and you are welcome to disagree but I believe the more time and effort you put in the greater the reward will be.
