Good find

So basically, I put my details in their systems and if I happen to be a debtor they have been looking for- BINGO they have me.

How underhand these companies get is beyond me

Also look at the following OFT Register entries, noting date of expiry - and then clicking 'History' at the bottom of each page:

Link to OFT Register:

Public Register

Type in the Company Registration below and click 'search;:

1703704 (Moorcroft Debt Recovery)

1704109 (Moorcroft Group Public Limited Company)

Just type the registration numbers in, noithing else. When the Licence (lack of) details come up, scroll down to 'History' and click on it. Click on 'Renewal'... 'Open'. Check the dates.

Kip, I don't think they are licenced. The OFT - dragging feet.

Their licenses are not 'current' - they are in excess of 6 months unlicensed.

'Valid even if not read by you' - is one of their fave threatening letters.

Should they alter it to 'Valid even if we don't have a license and you don't read our letters or know who we are?

Will contact the OFT about that web page in the morning. Shocking.

By submitting this form you are consenting to your

information being passed to National Debt Support

Centre and its associates who may contact you.

They'll also pass details to their pals.

The page also contains childish spelling mistakes and silly grammar errors.

The Wikipedia link is a dead link.

The second from last link, "To view more comments", links to

a CAG thread....... IS THAT ALLOWED? Isn't that a Copyright violation?

I honestly do not think that this site has anything to do with the actual Moorcroft themselves (could be wrong i dont know?)

But no company would put links to bad comments about them on a site like that...even companies as stupid as DCA's.

No..i think there is more to that site than what meets the eye

as so many tabs dont work

also

To view their information on market sectors

To view their contact information

To view their code of conduct through Credit Services Association

now would a company use the term "To view their" on there own website ?

some one is having a pop @ them and got it out of context

eg,

To view comments and feedback from people who have been chased regarding outstanding debts by Moorcroft Debt Recovery

try and fill the form out with any old cr*p and it fails

has anyone else noticed something odd about that site? No company reg details, FSA licence, reg address, contact details etc. etc.

Comes up under the links further down the page.

They obviously got Mickey Mouse to set this site up though. As already pointed out out other links take you 'customers' pointing out what a gang of plonkers they are:lol::lol::lol:

Upon completing the form:

Bad Referrer - Access Denied The form attempting to use FormMail resides at National Debt Support Centre, which is not allowed to access this cgi script. If you are attempting to configure FormMail to run with this form, you need to add the following to @referers, explained in detail in the README file.

Add 'moorcroftdebt.com' to your @referers array.

FormMail V1.92 © 1995 - 2002 Matt Wright

A Free Product of Matt's Script Archive, Inc.

This is an attempt to use the moorcroft sendmail/formmail cgi app on moorcroftdebt.com and the interim link is Bad Referrer - Access Denied.

Something fishy going on here!

The comments they link to are Blagger, Cag and Motley Fool - all negative.

The Wiki page is just names with 'Moorcroft' in them.

The scrolling banner across the top - are they legally allowed to advertise those other companies (inc. Payplan and CCCS)? I'd have thought not - as surely they're using that banner (and the web page name) to suggest they have some credibility??

Please everyone save that webpage!! (might 'go missing' if Moorcroft realises what poop they've landed themselves in! :D) Surely the OFT will have to take action now?

Bizarre and surreal.
