I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice.

I have received a letter from a uni which i attended. my first year was 2001/2002 didnt attend really apart from maybe first few months, registered to resit first year in 2002/2003 failed. now they are saying that i owe fees for 2003/2004, i did register to resit again but again hardly went in. (i know i am such an idiot and really regret it now).

anyway as we are the year 2009 would the unpaid fees be statute barred (6 years)? or not.

i am not sure if i have calculated the years right from 2003.

someone please help. any advice would be much appreciated.

thank you everyone.

In England/Wales it would become Statute Barred six years from when payment of the fees became due, five years in Scotland, as long as no payment or written admission of the debt had been made during that period.
