I never recieved any notification that the account I owed money to would become a CCJ? Can I .....

ask them to remove CCJ if I make a payment arrangement with them.

 

( I only know about CCj after obtaining my credit report!)

Hi welcometothejungle, if they have got ccj whithout you being aware of their actions then you can apply for it to be set aside.

You need to contact your local county court and ask them for the forms.

You'll need to file an application for set aside (form N244) with the court, you'll need to get the CCJ details from the court that gave judgement, if you can get them to send you a copy of the original court claim if you so wish you can work out a defence to attach to the application, this will strengthen your application.

 

Be aware though if a judge agrees to set-aside it takes you back to the initial court stage and at that point you'll need to decide whether to defend the claim, admit part, admit fully.
