Hi I recently offered Lowell a full and final settlement figure, however thy have turned it down and given me 4 options. The first 3 options are a payment amount each month over certain times, totalling the full amount.

4 Is a 15% discount off the debt for a one off payment, I cannot afford this offer.

Am I able to negociate this or is there situation pretty unchangeable?

As you are no doubt aware, they will have bought the original debt for a fraction.

Only you can decide what is right for you-theres no obligations either way to accept-unless its been ordered by a Court.

You should be very careful if you are making them offers-did you make it clear that you do not accept liability a that your offer is no admission to it (of course if you are in denial of it to begin with )

Up to you really.

Since they probably won;t take you to court, and expect to wear you down with letters and calls - the longer you hold out, the more they may be prepared to meet your figure. Which, because of their harassment you'll be revising your suggested settlement downwards. :)

Hi all I have just recevied a letter from Lowell saying -

" After reviewing the above account, we are prepared to take a commercial view in relation to this matter and as a gesture of good will and strictly without any admission of liability, we are prepared to close the account and write off any outstanding balance.

We trust that you will find this satisfactory and this matter is now closed."

Good skills I know, however should I just accept this as the end or can I get this removed from my credit file?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice

you could go at them with a bit of case law about damaging credit files - a long shot but you never know.

have a look at these cases - they may help
