I had a contract phone which when I lost my job was unable to keep up the payments so they have now passed it onto Fredrickson International, I owe them £540 as I paid £10 to freeze the account for 5 days on Monday. They are due to phone today and expect me to pay the account in full. There's no way I can pay it in full and certainly don't want to have to use some my overdraft to cover it. What should I do when they call me today?

Cheers

Ben

Accept no phone contact from them - if they call you, refuse to confirm security details and tell them everything has to be in writing

Have them provide proof that the debt even exists - you'll find letters in the Templates library to help you do this, but as this is a phone contract, it's not covered by the CCA1974.

If they want paying, let them work for it.

tell them to sod off and not to call you again-you're negotiating with the phone company
