Hi everyone. Hope you can help me. I get the residents discount for the congestion charge and therefore pay £4.00 per week. Unfortunately one week I forget to pay it although I was convinced I had. To my horror I got 4 penalty charges through the post. I challenged them mentioning that this was a genuine error on my behalf, and asked if I could pay them by instalments as I receive benefits. I got no reply and therefore phoned them. I was told that a letter had been sent out informing me that my appeal had been unsuccessful. I told them I had not received this letter and asked what I would have to do now. They told me they could not send out another letter as it was illegal, and I would have to wait until the matter went to court.

Does anyone have any advice on what I could do next. I have just received reminders that the fines have not been paid and they have now been increased to £180 each.
