Mafia?

Ok, there are a lot of rolling games going on in the Bear Garden at the moment, so I'm considering dusting off Mafia for another outing.

 

For those who don't recall the last one, see this thread, and the rules can be found from my original post on them.

 

If people are up for it, there are 12 spaces available, following the same rules as before.

Castlebest looks out from his grimy window over the town square... he sees a squat figure walking toward the town hall followed by a wisp of cigar smoke and the huge bulk of an almost human with the unmistakable bulge of a Thompson sub machine gun under his jacket.

Anyone else? Minimum 10 players; ideal 12.

 

This would involve you committing to at least 1 post per week in the game thread, for a period of about 3-4 weeks. So, not a lot of effort, really.

 

To sum up for those who've not played, Mafia is a game of paranoia and suspicion (and terrific fun). The game is split into Day and Night, in our case Day being from Monday to Friday, and Night being Saturday and Sunday. At some point in the Day phase, each of the assembled players publically votes in the game thread to lynch one of the other players on suspicion of being one of the three mafia who have secretly infiltrated the group. The Mafia vote as well during his phase, behaving like innocent players.

 

At the end of Day, a community member is lynched by popular vote and removed from the game, at which point the person running the game tells you whether they were Mafia or not.

 

During the Night phase, the remaining Mafia decide who to kill off, then secretly tell the person running the game, who announces it to the community at the start of the new Day phase.

 

This continues until either the Mafia win when the innocents are all lynched or whacked, or the innocents win when the Mafia are all lynched.

 

Absolutely any method of play is permitted, from secret PMs to public accusations in the game thread to direct threats to other players.
