Hi all,

With all the change around with the banks etc - does anyone of have a list of who is linked to who.

I am wanting to open a bank account that is completly independent of any of my creditors.

My creditors are MBNA, Egg, Santander, Barclays, Natwest, HSBC.

Thanks

Of the ones you mention - they are not linked in any way and all are banks in their own right (except MBNA, which isn't a bank).

Abbey is a member of Santander Group

Correct - they are not competing brands as the Abbey branches are all being rebranded Santander.

Abbey, Alliance and Leicester and Bradford & Bingley, I think, will all be re-branded Santander after a few get sold on (branches) I would have thought, though not 100%.

I think that HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland), bought out by Lloyds, is clear from the above creditors....maybe the Cooperative and Clydesdale (also Yorkshire bank) too.
