Hi, Wondered if anyone can help......my other half routinely has expenses each month at work and put his expenses forms in on a regular basis. My question is - how long legally can they take to pay you back expenses??

His employer used to pay them pretty much 2 weeks after you had put in for them, but recently this has changed and is taking ages. This has resulted in him going overdrawn (and getting charges) at times as his expenses are a big % of his monthly salary. Ive tried to search on the web but cant seem to find any info to help.

Thanks!

Is there anything about the process in the contract or handbook? If not then it could be assumed from previous experience that it shouldn't take longer than 2-3 weeks. In that case I'd suggest him writing a grievance stating it is unfair to expect him to manage his finances with no process in place, and as he has to outlay the cost initially it's making the job he's expected to do increasingly more difficult.
