Hi. Not sure if I have posted this is the correct section and if not please feel free to move. Thanks

About a year ago I got a letter from Rockwell debt collection agency saying that I owe them money and got the usual about legal action and the other scare tactics, which I have to say did work to some degree, but what changed a little was me asking for proof that I owed them the debt as I had nothing from HSBC to say that the debt had been handed/sold to them. Anyway I was glad to get them off my back..

Anyway after reading and hearing stuff and finding this site I have decided to contact the again.

So this is what I have done. From another post I started which I need to pick up again I have sent Rockwell Letter N from the Library with a £1 postal order. I have not signed the letter.

from what I have read I have to wait 12 days. If after 12 days I dont get a reply what do I do next. Also what worries me a little is that I may have signed a little about a year ago to them. What are the chances that they have kept that letter and perhaps could use my signature from that. Is it just in rare cases that companies have been using copies of peoples signatures?

Some advice and help would be much appreciated

Many Thanks

john

Hi John,

You've done the right thing sending the CCA as this will determine whether they have a legal right to collect on the account.

If you don't get the CCA after 14 wroking days you can put the account in dispute. If they chase you they should be reported to TS and the OFT.

It is rumoured that some DCAs have been rather creative with photoshop and signatures but this comment is in no way directed at the DCA under discussion.

Hi, I have done the next letter to Rockwell, but this might sound a silly question as I have just read through this letter in detail.

Do I carry on PAYING rockwell now or do I STOP paying them till the matter is sorted either way?

Many thanks

Hi,

I have had this letter sent to me from Rockwell DCA in response to the dispute letter I sent them a few days ago.

Our Ref: XXXX

Dear Mr X

RE: Phoenix Recoveries (UK) Limited SARL (HSBC)

Thank you for your letter the content if which has been duly noted.

We refer you to our previous letter and will be in contact with you once documentation has been provided by our clients

If you has any further queries in relation to this matter please contact our office

I am sure that this is just a standard letter to confirm that they received my 2nd letter. Again just want to check, do I need to do anything or is this just a waiting game with them. Also now that I know they have received the 2nd letter am I within my rights to hold off monthly payments till this has been resolved.

Many thanks as alwasy

Thanks mr.ton & babybear39 for your help & advice on a sunday :)

This is now going to be stopped. I was paying as I fell foul to the "ACT NOW" scary demand letters when I first received them.

Many thanks again

Hi,

It been about a month since I last heard from Rockwell (last letter was the dispute letter)

Is there something I should be doing. i am guessing that if they cannot provide the info they should be taking me off their systems. Is there a set period of time I need to wait?

Just wondering what to do next

many thanks

Look like Rockwell's CCL expired in April;

it is still current but the OFT have not yet renewed it;

wonder why?
