pcn Yellow box junction

Hi I would be grateful for some advice

 

i have received a PCN regarding entering and stopping in a yellow box junction and the evidence shows the rear wheels in the box on exit

 

I cannot remember if the the exit was clear when i entered and the vehicles in front stopped due to a second box junction about 100 yds further on and a bus stop

 

Do there need to be signs or just a small 12" by 12" camera sign as there is also bus lanes behind and after the junction

 

can I appeal with this info

ask them for evidence that you entered the box junction. the contravention occurs when you enter the box junction and not when you stop.

As symphony63 is pointing out, if the exit was clear at the time you entered, but became blocked before you could exit, then no contravention occurred.

A contravention occurs when your wheels enter the box junction and you cant clear the other side. Ask them for evidence that this exactly occured. The fact that your vehicle was caught on CCTV stopped in a box junction is not a contravention. The contravention is "entering and stopping". It might be true that you contravened but its up to the authority to prove that to you.

What do i need to fill in on the form and what box if any do i tick

No, it is not. The contravention is entering when the exit is not clear. If the exit subsequently becomes blocked (eg by a car changing lanes) then no contravention occurs.
