Hi all,

Can anyone help me out here. We (my husband and I ) have had a letter from credit management company Apex for Full and final settlement of loan we had with Clydesdale bank when my husband was made redundant (company in hands of receivers) 5 years ago we made arrangements to pay at 20pounds per month which is all we could afford a year or so latter a company called Jeremy Sutcliffe took over the debt and we had to pay 30pounds a month to them by standing order, this year Apex took it over and now we have got to the stage where we have this offer of 6.5K to clear debt of 11.463K

wording states 'we will accept 6.5k in full and final settlement of the above amount outstanding'

To avoid missing the opportunity of payingat reduced rate we must receive your payment no later than 22/07/2009 Once this deadline has passed the settlement will be void and the full balance due. yours sincerely etc.

We are both retired now. Do you think this is a good deal and will it be legal.

Sorry to be so long winded,

Thank you
