    • Pleased to hear that.   A general comment, for future readers of this thread, from my experiences of being an Executor.   Most large companies have a centralised 'Bereavement' department and I've found it's best to notify the death to them rather than the general customer service call centres. Search the company's website for 'bereavement'.   The bereavement departments are in my experience staffed by people who understand the processes when someone dies both for the relatives/executors and within their own companies and they get things sorted efficiently. (I've never had to use Vodafone's though).

      I was in Sainsbury’s today and did scan and shop.
      I arrived in after a busy day at work and immediately got distracted by the clothes.
       
      I put a few things in my trolley and then did a shop.
      I paid and was about to get into my car when the security guard stopped me and asked me to come back in.
       
      I did and they took me upstairs.
      I was mortified and said I forgot to scan the clothes and a conditioner, 5 items.
      I know its unacceptable but I was distracted and Initially hadn’t really planned to use scan and shop.
       
      No excuse.
      I offered to pay for the goods but the manager said it was too late.
      He looked at the CCTV and because I didn’t try to scan the items he was phoning the police.
       
      The cost of the items was about £40.
      I was crying at this point and told them I was a nurse, just coming from work and I could get struck off.
       
      They rang the police anyway and they came and issued me with a community resolution notice, which goes off my record in a year.
      I feel terrible. I have to declare this to my employer and NMC.
       
      They kept me in a room on my own with 4 staff and have banned me from all stores.
      The police said if I didn’t do the community order I would go to court and they would refer me to the PPS.
       
      I’m so stressed,
      can u appeal this or should I just accept it?

Lack of Catalogue Credit agreements - worried they will still enforce the debt

Hi everyone, I have four catalogue debts that I have asked for the credit agreements for and all of them have come back sorry we haven't got them but here is a copy of what the agreement would have looked like. The letters have shown the date the account was opened (they were all done on-line) and how much is outstanding.

 

I just wonder that as the accounts were all in the last three years whether they still have to prove the agreement is there such as a screen dump of my application or a ticked box on a printed agreement. I have sent off the account in dispute letters but just wanted to be sure if they have any way of enforcing these debts as they are relatively new.

They still have to prove it yes, even if you took them out online they would have to show the 'tick box'.

Thank you cerberusalert as always, it just worries me that they would soon be able to print off a mock up agreement if it doesn't need a signature :( Rainbow x

and many do but there a re a few tell tale signs

 

 

basically with online they have to show printouts of the time you applied.

Hi there

we have a similar situation with Kays catalogue and they have written and advised they will not pursue the debt. You just need to be persistant and stand firm and don't sign any letters you send to them as they may be tempted to use your signature.
