I've been working in the same job for 2 years and have never had a pay rise and we've just been told all pay rises are out of the question because of the current economic climate.

I've discovered that the company I work for has been paying my junior colleagues who do the same job as myself in an office 30 miles away a thousand pounds a year more. New staff are about to be taken on in that office, again as far as I know at a thousand pounds a year more than myself.

Is this legal? Or if I make an issue out of it is my complaint merely one of unfairness rather than illegality? I would just go and ask for a rise but obviously they've already taken that option away for me.

any advice much apprreciated!
