I have a Bank Account with HSBC & i am currently overdrawn on it by about £900 yet my limit is £500, yet i will never get it back due to the charges being taken each month significantly eating into any left over monies in my account - what can i do?

Open a 'parachute' a/c with an unrelated bank & stop using HSBC, then send them a SAR with a view to reclaiming any unfair charges they've added; http://www.consumerforums.com/resources/templates-library/86-debt-collectors/576-subject-access-request-debt-a-dca

Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities)?

Are any of the arrears part of any payment plan to repay them?

You could pay them back the money you owe them. A similar thing happened to me, I asked them to give me a temporary overdraft which included enough to cover any future charges. Then they froze the charges and I just repaid the money I owed until the temporary overdraft was paid off...
