all you'll get back is prevarication and more crap

this needs a proper full scale assault to bring this particular rotten edifice crashing down

Agreed but within the prevarication and crap will lurk little gems of info, or they might just fcuk up and make a mistake:)

Great thread, 6 years is too long, some people only get 5 years for murder.

Hope this takes off and we can take them down, going to need some sort of challenge in court to change things. 3 Years History sounds reasonable though.

Until the ICO gets some balls, they will continue with 6 years, as in his opinion they can.

Nothing to do with Law, that, as he can't justify his opinion in a Court, as it's based on industry standards.

Problem being, "industry standards" are different throughout the World, so that argument is out of the window.

In short, collusion of opinions between the ICO and those lesser Judges who just accept his opinion as given and enforceable, means no justice to those that challenge this.

Unless we have a millionaire on our hands, willing to push a test case through - that means bringing a claim and pushing appeals to the limits to establish a decent precedent, as there can be no test case without a case in the first place - this is the system we're stuck with.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, data controllers insist on intimidating those trying to achieve justice with threats of overblown costs should they continue and lose.

Been reading this thread for the last couple of hours and find it very interesting. One point which seems to be as clear as daylight comes to light. CRA record data with consent which is given in a credit agreement. Many of us have letters from lenders terminating the said agreement. Surely this recinds any authority to share info with CRA's. If a contract is cancelled then it's cancelled, all of it including permision to pass info to CRA's.
