Hi all

Hope this is the correct section

I recently purchased a house and payed all the fees to my solicitor.

I then received a letter from them asking for £28.75 (i know this aint much) for the sellers solicitor in respect of their fee for engrossing the transfer fee.

I was under the impression i only payed my solicitors fees and the seller(which was a bank)payed all their solicitors fees.

Its a little unfair i feel to charge me a fee for them to accept my money.

Any one have an opinion on this and if i have to pay it.

Thanks.

Not unusual I'm afraid. Especially with major developers. I had to pay their fee of £150.00 plus VAT
