Just had 2 Statement of Account Notices from Link after not having heard for over a year.

Have checked these accounts on my Credit File and on both the original Default date is shown as 2004.

However, at the head of the file notation it says default amount XXXXXX defaulted and gives a date in 2008?

Nothing has been paid on these accounts since before the original default date so what is happening? and which is the correct date and the date which starts the 6 years on the Credit File?

The Statements give the Assigned date as in 2004. It is shown as Statement Number 1 showing the same balance from October 2008 to July 2009, what are they trying to achieve having been quiet for so long?

IMHO the date you defaulted is the one to be concerned about, (2004?)

So the other date may just be them registering the default when it is passed from pillar to post like a hot potato:D

They cannot extend the original default date to suit them, it will still drop off your file next year.

But if your not happy with it, you could give the CRA a bell and ask them to explain.;)

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

But Link have had the accounts since the original Default Date, so why put in a date 4 years later?

Let me take a look at another thread and I'll come back with an answer!:D

If you look at the attachments he posted in the third post, does that look similar to yours?
