Good Morning ,

This is a further complaint re Vodafone and I really do need some advice on this.I had a perfect credit rating I earn a good salary and Vodafone have damaged this.

In 2007 I took out a 18 month contract with Vodafone a anytime any network contract with a average bill of £50 per month with inclusive minutes paid this every month with no problem happy with the minutes etc.

In early 2009 I called Vodafone as I wanted to buy a Iphone and as this was only possible via O2 I wanted to ensure the best way to give them correct notice at end of contract. had only 3 months left.I got the notification time and confirmed that I would not renew the contract on expiry.

Soon after this I got a call from a Vodafone call centre and a salesman then went through my account (which was in excellent standing never had a debt in my life.) The salesman stated they did not wish to loose me as a customer and that they would offer me a better tarriff that would save me money I explained to him re the Iphone but this was ignored. The salesman promised me that I would see a lower bill each month to the end of the contract, this was a change of tarriff no upgrade or anything.I took the salesmans word as good faith.

First month bill since promised lower tarriff £100? Called to them as they nearly put me in overdraft!! Promised call back and nothing. Called agian again nothing. Messed around competely.

Dragged on to next month again £100+ Again taken out of account called again and wrote.Again nothing Then a bill for 250!!! which did put me in overdraft but fortunately the bank called me as surprised.Following the bank checking the previous payments they thankfully stopped the payment and repayed my account. This reversal is documented in my bank statements fortunately.

Here is the crunch I have written numerous letters to Vodafone about this including the last ones recorded delivery. Yet I have not had a reply.Only letters from them demanding payment. I have written to them giving copies of the previous documentation all ignored. I made a formal dispute claim in the letters.

I have now learnt that Vodafone have defaulted me! , I have found this out following my application for a mortgage!! I have probably lost the mortgage over this as the Mortgage company can only go on the default details supplied by the CRAs. Vodafone have damaged my Credit rating with out even notifying me. Final straw I have now received a letter from a Debt Collection Agency re Vodafone. Vodafone have ignored me completely ignored all my calls and letters (Fortunately sent recorded) and the debt has risen by £50.00

I am sorry to make this a long drawn out event but has anyone had this happen to them. I have never missed a payment with Vodaphone or any other network , happy to pay a bill but want them to look at the account and explain the dramatic rise. But nothing at all from then the Default and DRA.

Thanks for any help as the damage to my Credit Rating is devastating and their lack of customer service terrible.

Hi Martin 3030 and Thanks Lee Vodafone,

Over the weekend we have written to the CRA (As they have threatened with summary date of 17th of July 2009) who have applied a further £50.00 to the disputed account. We have supplied copies of the letters sent to Vodafone and following your PM I will copy these to you.

Hopefully now someone at Vodafone will realise that here is a genuine loyal customer and a acknowledgement such as yours could have saved much grief.

Thanks also Martin3030 and I will keep you updated as to the settlement of this matter.

Hi seelllyfirst2,

Thanks for coming back to me.

As you're now being contacted by an DCA I can't stress enough the importance of being able to access your account in order to investigate this further.

While I wouldn't desuade you from sending in further correspondence could you also email me a copy of it, as well as the other letters you've mentioned, so that I can get things moving forward for you.

Thanks,

Hi,

You've had an offer of help from someone who works at Vodafone, therefore it would be sensible to take up that offer. I agree with sending the info by recorded delivery but there is no harm in getting the info to Lee_Vodafone as he will then be able to deal with your query immediately for you rather than wait on the recorded delivery letter to get to Vodafone.

Hi seelllyfirst2,

Could you let me know as soon as you're contacted by in reply to your letter to reassure me that this's being dealt with?

If you don't get a reply to your letter within seven days of it being signed for could you email everything to me as I really do think this needs investigating as quickly as possible.

Thanks,

Hi

Just to keep you updated I have been informed today at 4pm by my building society that I have been turned down for the mortgage on my flat.Reason problem with Credit scoring.Outcome without removal of Default 6 months wait to reapply!!

They went further to confirm that it was a decision based solely on my credit scoring alone!! Happy with my salary and everything else however a default has shown up on the credit file. Can you understand my frustration over this I have never been refused credit ever and crucially to underline my previous credit history I had no trouble taking out my new Iphone contract on the expiry of the Vodaphone contract May 2009. I informed them that I would not renew the contract on its completion due to the tarriff error and the fact that I wanted a Iphone and they could not supply me 1 on contract!!.

So the Default notice fhas caused this whole problem.

Both myself and Solicitor were correct as you would not have been in a position to reverse the Default in time to undo the damage.

My experience of the many companies that have extended credit to me is that they do value their customers and do help. In this instance I asked a large corporation to help a customer and rather than answer my phonecalls and letters they defaulted me!

Hope now that the other Caggers will understand my frustration I have taken on board your comments however the legal advice was to go direct (Recorded Mail) to the issuer of the default notice a UK Customer Service Director. Web based mail which could be handled worldwide is not easily delivery proven. As my guy said you could be dealing with a Asian Call centre/web presence. My apologies to Lee_ but when asked for a UK address and contact details to forward the documents these were not forthcoming which was strange.

Hopefully it can be sorted.

Lenders are obligated to give you details of what they have taken into account in any refusals-including the credit reference agencies they have used for their checks.

The search will no doubt show on your files.

You should know that you can re-apply without penalty if any defaults that were entered incorrectly are subsequently removed.

Good morning seelllyfirst2,

Having read your update it's increasingly clear to me how urgent it is for this to be investigated quickly and I sincerely hope that you get a speedy reply to your most recent letter so that this can move forward.

I would also like to reassure you that I am based in the UK and would've acknowledged receipt of your email within a few minutes and then got on with investigating this.

As I mentioned on Friday should you not get a reply within seven days of your letter being signed for I'd be grateful if you would forward it to me.

Thanks and I look forward to your update later in the week.
