does anyone know how changing your name due to marriage can affect your credit file? ie, if i have bad debts in maiden name from a long while ago, does changing my name on current credit accounts which are being ran well mean that my score etc should get better?

If i have helped you please click the scales :)

I am here on my own quest for help, although i work for T-Mobile and will gladly assist where i can i am not here as a company representative.

I am not legally qualified, if in doubt seek professional assistance :)

Your Credit file should pick up the change of name.

How long ago were your previous debts. They drop off after 6 years.

There is no legal requirement to use your husband's name when you marry, you can still use your maiden name until such time as the defaults drop of your file & then if you wish you can adopt your married name. Meaning, if you have a bank a/c etc you can change your details anytime you wish to. ;)
