So I got a letters from school today (I have 5 year old twins) to tell me that Sports Day is next Wednesday, the theme is the Olympics and the twins are representing India.. so I need to provide tshirts representing India.

Its not exactly one you can pop out to JJB and pick up, so where am I likely to find a tee shirt in the flag colours of India.

Or, do you think I might get away with Ireland and tell them the flag is on its side :-D

I'm just looking at fabric paint at the moment, they dont exactly give you much time to do these things do they, its our first sports day, I was expecting a little bit longer than a week's notice if I needed to actually do something lol.

What about a couple of plain t shirts and either paint the flag on or print big coloured flag pictures and attach with safety pins.

This idea is probably easier and cheaper ;)

You could try these. You may have to get a picture of the flag and scan it onto your computer. They will then print it on a T-shirt for you. They give freebies to new customers usually. You will probably only have to pay for postage.

Buy cheap white t-shirts from Primark. Buy t-shirt printer paper (e-bay is cheaper if you have the time), follow instructions carefully and make your own.

Seriously, it is that simple.

You can get iron on transfer paper that runs through a normal printer from most decent computer/ink/paper suppliers its normally around £5 to £10 for 10 sheets of A4.

Then as Bookie says just print it out and iron it on :)

Given you have twins, this would seem to me to be an ideal opportunity to show the disgustingly wide social and monetary divide that exists throughout most of India.

One twin will be dressed in a sharp suit, a gold watch and well groomed hair; the other a representation of the social and economic deprivation in which a great many Indians are forced to live.

As well as undeniably representing the true face of India, your children will be making a bold political statement to the pampered West, who whitewash their consciences by wringing their hands, shaking their heads and agreeing that something must be done about those living in poverty whilst not actually taking the slightest action to make the planet a better place for those trapped in poverty.

Of course, there is always the chance that Tez is suggesting you hijack your school sports day to educate those attending about the social and economic injustices throughout the Asian sub-continent...

Lol, my daughter is quite the little socialist already. So that idea could work quite well especially if I explain the reasoning behind it. Then of course it isnt bad mammy hijacking the sports day, but rather an inquisitive 5 year old with a social conscience. :D

or send them both in loin cloths and use face paint/crayons, bet they would love to draw all over each other :D

Hmmmmmm I think I'll give that one a miss.. you try explaining to 2 5 year olds why they can do it one day.. but to do it in biro 5 minutes before we are due to go somewhere isnt allowed
