I opened a Cashminder account as a parachute account in 2007 and was very happy with it. I admit I have not been a perfect customer, I think on 3 occasions during those 2 years I forgot to put money into the account and they have bounced payments but that was fine, the situation lasted for a few days until the payment into the bank cleared and off we went again.


On the 17th June I had 2 letters, one informing me they had had to return a payment and the second saying they no longer wanted my business and were giving me 30 days notice of the termination of my bank account.


Ha! 30 days... the next paragraph said the direct debits and standing orders had been canceled with immediate effect :cool: and the Electron card would be canceled from the 1st July effectively giving me 13 days not 30.


So the customer led, ethically guided bank have proved to me that they are not :rolleyes: so they have been filed alongside HSBC and my preliminary letter is in the post :).

My Electron card is due for renewal, and they just gave me a new Visa Debit Card instead, think there doing it with everyone.
