This is from the Credit Today website - no doubt some spin has been put on it. I have my own opinion why MHall have rid themselves of their "bespoke-state-of-the-art-no-one-does-it-better-than-j20-tracing-agency but it would not be right for me to disclose in a public forum. Still I can ask why Lowells?

Lowell takes on J2 operation - 01/07/2009

Lowell Group is to offer clients a contingency collections service before sale following its acquisition of the fixed assets of tracing agency J2 Solutions.

Lowell (directors pictured) bought the assets from JZ International, the majority shareholder in debt collection agency and debt buyer Mackenzie Hall. All members of J2’s staff, including J2’s managing director Gary Jones, will now transfer to the Lowell Group. The 30 staff will remain in their current location as a dedicated contingency office, supported by the main Lowell Leeds headquarters.

The debt buyer plans to offer the contingency service to clients as an "outsource to sell" operation. Creditors can outsource their accounts on a commission basis with a view to selling some or all of them to Lowell at a later date.

James Cornell, chief executive of Lowell, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for both Lowell and its clients to explore new ways of working together by offering tailored debt sale solutions to meet our clients’ current and future debt sale requirements. Purchasing the assets of J2 and employing the J2 team will provide the catalyst for building a new dedicated platform targeted to providing our clients with a premium collections service."

Jones added: "My team and I are delighted to be joining the team at Lowell. Lowell has an extremely successful track record and I see this as an excellent opportunity for both me personally and my team, as well as for the marketplace."

J2 will be dissolved following the assets being sold to Lowell to enable Mackenzie Hall to fully focus on its services to the secondary and tertiary collection markets and to the secondary debt sale market place. Mackenzie Hall has already developed an internal trace function ‘Connect’ in Kilmarnock in order to fully service its existing and future debt collections customers.

Paul Mackenzie, chief executive of Mackenzie Hall commented: "This enables Mackenzie Hall to focus on our market-leading debt collection and purchasing activities and we look forward to continuing our strong track record of growth."

I dont know who to feel more sorry for, J2 or Lowells?

Anyway - let them "be as one"in their own world of incompetence & uselessness :D

PMSL:D:D:D:D

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Yes, excellent!

Did Lowells pay for J2 or did they send the boys in to collect? :)

I have heard from Lowells a few times about a disputed and statute barred debt. As I understand their business model they specialise in buying statute barred (or soon to be) debt, add a huge fee then chase...

When I was first contacted I told them they had more chance of getting blood out of a stone. After several reams of paper later (from them) and me totally ignoring them they gave up and moved on. They are bottom feeders (In my opinion).

There were two threads on this yesterday. Here is my response

Well it proves what we all knew there IS a connection between the Leeds Losers and the Kilmarnock Cowboys.

What concerns me is what is going to happen to all of Andy Bartles Licensed Field Agents now. Will they be seeking gainful employment. Who will look after Lowells field now

The army of field agents are a figment of someone's fertile imagination. The statement publish in Credit Today reveals J2 employed just 30 bods. Thats not even a platoon and presumably includes the chief bod and the office junior.
