I have had a letter from equidebt chasing a large sum of money from my mother. My mother is very ill and in a home and they are chasing it from Whitefriars from 2-3 years ago.

What can they do as I don't believe she should pay

She is too ill to even speak to them and also would not afford this money.

What can I do to sort it out as they won't speak to me due to data-protection.

Shall i just leave it as they are not getting the money as I don't believe she owes it, she has been on benefits for that period - why would she have to pay rent????

Moneygrabbers, possibly.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

personally id ignore the idiots, however, why not write and ask them to prove that the debt is owed, they cannot just appear and demand money, it would be the same if you rang them and said 'you owe me money' im sure the first thing theyd say is 'prove it?'
