Hi all

Lloyds Tsb are refusing to deal with me because the signature I put on the letters do not match the real signature of the person I am writing for.

I don't want this person to sign because LTSB have an unenforceable agreement for a credit card, and without casting aspersions I do not wish her signiaure to appear on Credit Agreement.

I have been dealing with LTSB on this account for nearly 3 years I had authrority because they kept phoning me and I kept arranging repayments, but since March, since I have asked some probing questions they just refuse to deal point blank with me. And keep quoting data protection act.

What options do I have for me to fire back at them.

Cheers all

Just remember to keep smiling and ask if you need help. :-)

I can't read and I can't write, but that don't really matter, cos I come from Lincolnshire, and I can drive a tractor.

I found this on a thread in here. Your friend can sign the letter and it can't be lifted and transferred onto another document.

Just right click the image, select Save Picture As and save it on your computer. You can add it onto Microsoft word. If you need any help then let me know.

Report them to TS and the OFT for breaching OFT guildines in not dealing with a third party to represent her. Also breaching CPUT R 2008.

Theres nothing in the data protection act that says or implies they can refuse without a sig.

Only that a Data controller can refuse an application if they are not satisfied that the person making the request is the subject.

The exact wording can be found in section 7.3.1

No idea. The only thing i can see wrong with it is the spelling. You put Guildlines instead of Guidelines. Don't worry i do it all the time being a blonde.

I would be tempted to write back stating the times they have happily discussed this account with you. Add on a nice question about when did the Data Protection change to suddenly stop you being able to discuss this account. It does not matter if all the contact you had was by telephone, after all they do not know whether or not you have recorded evidence.

Not too sure on the fool-proof signature box, not too difficult to tippex around and go over the signature with a black thin marker pen, re-scan etc.

I would introduce a new signature, over the years it frequently changes anyway. In case of any misuse of the new signature, get some-one to sign a letter confirming they have seen your previous signature and are happy you are the one signing the new one. Do not pass this on, it is just useful to keep for your own records.

Thanks for all you input so far.

It now looks like we are gonna get a CAG tamper signature strip.

They could trace it the old way or scan it, add a new layer, go over it and delete the bottom layer.

Regardless, when you send a letter at least they will know that your not your average 'joe'.

Show proof of any DCA or their 'clients' fraudulently using your signature, I doubt you can, and I strongly doubt they ever have.

However, printing and not signing your name is just another tool in the Caggers toolbox :D:D
