I have had my mortgage with the Halifax for 19 years and as at March 2007 there were £7,000 worth of charges on my mortgage account. These charges are due to arrears which have been incurred by 2 lots of redundancy and divorce since I took out the mortgage. I am wondering if I can claim back the charges as £35 for a letter and other similar charges seem rather excessive. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
