I have recently had a reply to my standard access request from barclays , like many on here I have encountered barclays obstructive replies to my cca request . Standard replies as many on this forum , enclosed t &c s and no agreement . I thought i might get more joy using the data protection act .

However I note the SAR only goes back literally 6 years from my request , and they state that s all they hold on me . Are they being tricky could they dig out an enforcable contract down the line if there was one, and is their response lip service to the data protection act by only going back 6 years , obviously my account is over 6 years over .

I have failed to get a reply from Barclays, however my account was originally a Morgan Stanley one. That said Bank Of Scotland actually sent me a copy of my Visa application from 1984 and so I'd say that some banks do indeed retain data far beyond 6 years.

Like you I've CCA'd a Barclaycard account, Debt Managers Ltd are they DCA dealing with it...............so far no response.........the way I see it.......until they supply the documents the account will reamin in dispute.........that means stalemate. After 5 or 6 years the whole thing becomes time barred................so they can take as long as they like really...........
