Hi

Possible daft question but how do you know if a charge is unfair ? I missed a payment on a CC they (Halifax) then charged me 12 quid then because this 12 quid put me over my limit another 12 quid for go over that.

I am waiting for a direct debit to get setup and I did call them to try and pay over the phone but they don't accept payments over the phone ! (although they did when I became late for some reason )

It feels unfair to me but do I have a leg to stand on or am I just being a whinging git ?

Hi, Stuart.

I've got one like you at home ;)

The £12 charge is an unfair charge and can be claimed back, if you've not had many, its sometimes worth phoning your Bank and asking for these charges to be refunded.

If you get no joy, you'd have to start a claim against them.

Regards.

Scott.

Have you phoned them yet, what is the total amount of charges, If the amounts not great, they sometimes refund them.
