just started at a Citizen Advice Bureau as a volunteer. As a volunteer what rights do i have (remember i have just started at the CAB so don't know much about the law).

The manger at CAB has written emails that we have to do 6 hours volunteering to get our travel or food expenses (although in the CAB rule book and the inland revenue says 5 hours).

He also wrote an email stating not to go to trendy cafes to buy food or coffees, as she has prepared stuff at the office.

also wrote to everyone in the office that the office was getting noisy and if this didn't stop he would start to move offenders, he sent this by email but not everybody has access.

he also shouted well screamed at me and another volunteer as we were talking.

he has threatened to cancel important training dates. He is holding back volunteer certificates . One person has put a complaint to the charity commission and CAB headoffice but they are not taking this seriously.

I have worked with organisations that rely on volunteers in the past, and while I don't know about the complaints procedure (or lack off in your case), when it comes to expenses I know when a claim is submited it had to be the best value for money, i.e a bus day ticket instead of 2 taxi trips to home-office and back, and for lunch/snacks it had to be reasonable and cheapest in the local area and not a McDoanlds supersized meal etc - this was to ensure the best usage of the charitys operating funds.

I am supprised the charity commission has ignored your complaint, how did you contact them?

Can't go into detail, but an ex adviser has complained and taking her complaint further due to misrepresentation, discrimination, bullying and fraud.

The manager is a law onto himself he is being investigated hopefully at the moment. Also there are others in the pipeline who are planning to complain as well.

We never take advantage of our expenses sometimes we don't claim them.
