Allied Int Credit; Sechiari, Clark 7 Mitchell; Lloyds

Please Help! I lived in the UK from 1988-97. Moved to US and have been paying off the debt ever since. Lapsed in payments, was able to make international payments w/US bank card Lloyds - MHA. Once acct back in good standing, Lloyds would not take US bank card payment. Int wires were rejected. Have had to stop making payments due to financial situation (inability to get them to accept the money didn't help either!)

 

Have never been able to speak to anyone at Lloyds or even get a response to letters from any of the above agencies about how to continue payment in some form. Have now had letters from Sechiari & Co: told them about inability to pay, asked for review of acct and for it to be deemed uncollectable. It was passed to AIC. Copied them on all correspondance, repeated request, they are now threatening to contact their legal rep in US and charge additional cost.

 

Am not sure what to do, I cannot reach them by fax or email and have read on this site that phone calls are pretty much useless. All written requests I make just illicit form letters with no reference to how to rectify this. I cannot repay the 11k and God knows by now the majority is probably interest and fee's. Can anyone please offer any advice? Thanks!

First of all you should ask for a copy of the agreement to ensure that there IS actually one.

 

You will do that by sending a £1.00 postal order or third party cheque to AIC

Next, you should request a Subject Access Request from LTSB. This will cost you £10.00 again, you should do this with a postal order, third party cheque, money order.. anything that doesnt bear your signature.

Almost certainly if you have been paying a reduced amount or have missed payments then there will be charges applied and you will need to reclaim these.

 

Have you received a Default Notice / Formal Demand / Termination notice from LTSB ?

 

When was this account opened.
