Bacs works similarly to a cheque; payments take three working days to clear: they are entered into the system on the first day, processed on the second day, and cleared on the third day. It's a one-way transaction and they cannot debit your a/c without your permission.

Hi aveitlarge,

cerberusalert is correct, they cant recall the money.

Going off the topic slightly, when reading your post it is clear that you are very unhappy with your employer, I wonder if simply walking out is a good idea.

You could still leave on the day you want, however may I suggest a cunning plan.

Resign with immediate effect listing your concerns within this letter of resignation, I expect you wish to argue that they have broken their the contract with you in someway, hand to your supervisor on your departure.

I am sure that someone could advise on the actual wording, just one word of warning your employer could sue for return of any money you owe them, an example could be payments for training courses.
