I work for a County Council that is in the middle of restructuring and has just announced a significant number of redunancies.

 

Firstly I'd like to know if I can be simply moved to another job on the same grade against my will if they "remove/restrucure" my old job.

 

Secondly, I have been internally offered a new job, before the redundancies were announced and before the restructuring indicates what the changes to my current job might be.

 

I'm in the middle of a mess which makes decision making hard.

 

Can I insist on staying in my current job? What rights do they have to move me to a completely unrelated job on the same salary?
