Hi,

Can you please help...

I am 17 with an Adapt NatWest account.

Today I have received and overdraft bill with unpaid items. I though the adapt account stopped any kind of debt occurring to those under the age of 18.

The items that were 'unpaid' came from PayPal I have received the packages. This was very puzzling as the seller would not dispatch the packages unless paid for...

So either NatWest has forcibly over drafted me, thus making me pay them back in debt...

I need help people, please help.....

Fantastic in one regard and slap wrist for lying when registering for Paypal ;).

Pop into your local branch and say to them that you are 17 years old and have been charged for a Direct Debit on your account and you have been made aware that you cannot receive bank charges until you are 18 years old. If they say that this is nonsense then ask them for their paper copy of the terms and conditions of the account you have and that will have specific terms(additional terms) and they state "Standing Orders and Direct Debits are not permitted on the account". If they are not permitted then why did the bank allow them to be set up? :D

They'll refund it.

For tom wr1ght. An unpaid item is when a Direct Debit or Standing Order is returned unpaid on your account. However, the adapt account specifically states you are not permitted to have them on the account so, NatWest Bank have to refund the charge. You are 17 years old.
