I am very excited about the info I was told about as seen on GMTV regarding claiming back unfair charges.

TSB has been my nemesis for 15 years. I have paid more in charges than I have ever had in the bank (I use Natwest..which is my other account).

So my first question is this. I am paying charges of £24 a month for being over my overdraft limit. This is the most damaging aspect of my TSB charges. Will I be able to claim for these charges? How much of the £24 is lawful? I had an arranged overdraft of approx £1000 and was maybe £500 over that limit because they reduced the previous £1500 allowed limit.

Will I be able to claim for failed direct debit and standing order charges that I incurred due to my wage being late or cash flow problems? What about bounced cheques?

I'm a little confused as to what charges I put into the spreadsheet and which I leave out. For example using a cash card abroad inccurs a charge..do you include that?

Thanks all

Hi - take a bit of time to read up first to make sure that you have the facts before going too far ahead. Read the FAQs and template letters then have a good read around here to see how others are getting on. Keep any progress on your own claim or questions that arise in a new thread in the forums for your banks to make it easier for others to follow and advise you. There's a set of links in my sig below that will help you find where all this useful information is. Well done for getting started!

You can only include those charges that were directly related to penalties for being over your limit, such as paying/not paying when insufficient funds, or overlimit fees. Service charges like overdraft arrangement fees, or foreign transaction fees are NOT reclaimable. Once a charge is more than the amount it costs the bank then the whole of that charge is unlawful.
