Not really worth it.

Far better to go on the offensive and challenge those who are pestering you....or ignore them and IF they take you to court only offer what you can realistically afford to pay, not a penny more.

HOIST BY THEIR OWN PETARD.

Blimey it works....:-)

I had a legal name change (not for this reason) and my bank with whom I had not problems for many years, immediately informed all the CRA's and now I have an alias!!: AKA and Fraud note!!!

I had 2 legal change of names also not for avoiding debt + it was a very long time ago but I think I confused everybody because I went from my birth surname, to my stepfathers surname for many years and back to my birth surname after my mother divorced my stepfather.

There are many reasons apart from marriage/divorce for name changes and I think many people assume that it must be for devious reasons - I notifield everyone that needed to know, Pensions, bank etc. I still respond if required to DCAs in my previous name which they address me by and yet I cannot get the CRA's to alter their records. They say it is because I am using both names, you just can't win!!

Years back a guy had took his bank to court after they withdrew banking services from him. He won.

He'd changed his name to:

Mr Yorkshire Bank Are Fascist B*****ds PLC

Just think, every time you sign a cheque.....

Oh gosh that means he has to open most of his mail and cannot send it back when address to The occupier, perhaps not such a clever move:confused:

Or similarly T.H.E Homeowner

I like P. Issoff

"A Guy in Huddersfield Changed his name to T.H.E. Occupier", but he also had a legal marraige to his dog as well!! AKA Jake Manglewurzel, a rather eccentric gent:)

How about changing it to Ken Maynard (Cabot MD;))

I knew someone called A. Dickman - correct spellings! His first name was Anthony but he always signed A. Dickman - dont think that would go in his favour with a DCA :p

I've got the same problem - I double-barrelled my name with my partner's, but I also use my old name for several accounts that are included in my DMP (a Littlewoods account and an old NatWest account) and I have 2 accounts with the Leeds Losers - Im reluctant to send them my deed poll for various reasons (one being it has my real signature on it :p) so I;ve got 2 names on my CRA records which they wont put right!! I changed it by usage last year and officially this year but most of my defaulted accounts are in my new name, so quite often I have to think before giving my name to anyone as I often dont know which name I have used!!!
