Hi

To cut a long story short, I have been unable to work for 3 years following respiratory failure and a coma and am now disabled and in an out of hospital on a monthly basis.

I am 30k in debt as I had to take out loans to pay rent to keep a roof over my family, and the loan repayment meant i couldnt keep up my CC payments etc etc. The downward spiral really taking hold.

Over the past few months I have regained control of my debts, made offers of payments which have been accepted, but am now locked into payment plans which will effectively take many years to pay off.

Each company accepting £5 per month payable by S/O. I am on benefits so as you can imagine its going to take a long time

However I am wondering?

Should I have asked for a CCA?

Should I dispute some of these debts/charges?

Can I get debts written off?

I have no records or bank statements from any of these companies should I ask for them?

I am still a director of a dormant company so am reluctant to do the bankruptcy route. I am hoping to be able to return to work in the future.

Is there more that i can do. I want to get my finances and credit rating back on track

Any ideas?

Hi harrow,

yes you can still send cca's to ensure they are entitled to collect.

sending sars will help to reclaim any charges and help bring down the balances for you
