I think you must have covered this lots of times but I couldn't see it in the forums. I got charged £38 for going over my overdraft for a direct debit. The DD was £36 I only noticed it on the day but after 3pm. So I put in £50 the next day to cover it, but they told me it would still stand even though I put in the money to cover it I had to put the money in before 3pm the previous day. My account has run very well for the last 18 months or more with no problems I am in my O draft but thats it. I was very surprised with the lack of understanding and if I didnt have internet banking I may not have noticed this for weeks. The only reason I went over is because a payment was delayed to me. Just seems very harsh and I think I will get another charge at the end of the month for £29. Be great if someone could help.

All bank charges should be reclaimed. Spend a while looking through the forum and you will see how it is done
