Hi.

 

No expert on this but I would thought your first step is to write back and ask them to send the demand to the driver of the car at the time of the incident. :)

 

Despite them asking for details you are under no legal obligation to provide this information (note the use of their phrase 'please' !), it may well be the case that you are a large family and that your car can be used by diff family members or even friends etc.

You can relax - we have hundreds of these. Don't bother writing that will just make them write even more rubbish. Its the usual misleading claptrap and Trethowans know its claptrap. Just report them to the SRA and tell the SRA that Trethowans have completely ignored the long established law on privity. Also you don't have to tell them anything, this is a civil matter and so 'the burden is on the claimaint', Trethowans don't seem to know that either so put that in the complaint to the SRA as well.
