I’ve just received a letter from a company called thesis, I think they bought a load of student loans off SLC.

I pay £10 (which all that I can afford) to SLC toward my student loan for the last 3 years after they demanded payment, which up until now they have seemed happy with

Thesis have told me that they are going to report my default to the credit reference agency and sent me a new default notice.

1) back in 2001 I got a default notice from the SLC regarding this loan(s), how can they default me twice? Unfortunately I threw the notice away, but planning on SAR SLC to see if they have it on record.

2) How can they record the Data with the Credit reference agencies, when the original loan was none status. I did not give my person for the SLC to process my data to third parties?

3) Not sure if this is fishing? Might just ignore it, I CCA SLC back in 2006 all they could send me a faded unreadable document, hope their not going to try and use that in court?

anyone?

Probably better off posting on http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/#black-consumer-forums-center

Thesis recently threatened to default me, despite a default notice being issued by the SLC in 2005. Again like you, shame I didn't keep it. It wasn't rectified, so the SLC or Thesis are not entitled to issue another.

Tempted to SAR the SLC, but suspect they will just deny knowledge.

Are you sure of that?

The clause below is from a genuine SLC agreement of about that time.

Have they Money claimed you yet? court summons? or just just the threat o grams

Not even threatograms.

Just vague threats over the phone. To be honest the girl I spoke to hadn't the faintest clue, and just kept on repeating the threat. Ignorant threat monkey basically.

That was 2 months ago. Not heard a peep since. :)

If they get out of line, report them to the OFT:
