    • Hi.   I know you have a few threads going, is this one connected with the one you posted on earlier please?   HB
    • I've converted the images to PDF so only registered Caggers can see them - best to keep the fleecers guessing!   Excellent work, the signs are indeed total pants.   As far as you know, are these the same as what you saw?  Google Street View is often out of date.
    • Fraudsters are using the details of firms we authorise to try to convince people that they work for a genuine, authorised firm. Find out more about this ‘clone firm’. View the full article
    • I have captured the best images of the sign at the entrance to the car park that I could, from Google Street View. It strikes me that no mention/agreement of having to pay £100 could have been seen from the car.  The writing is too small.     Signs.pdf
    • My aged uncle had been paying for his TV licence by auto renewing monthly direct debits despite (despite turning 75 years old 7 years ago). My request for a refund was ignored for over a month, so I made a Direct Debit Indemnity claim and received a full refund for 7 years overpayment within the day from my bank.  It was very simple.   I then asked TV licensing for a compensation payment for the interest and they have refused on the grounds they did nothing wrong. It seems they do not take customer dates of birth. This is why  they have no idea whether their customers should be charged or whether they have reached the age for a free license.   It seems to me (especially for the benefit of old people), it would be simple to include a date of birth in the application process and therefore automatically cancel direct debits or even reject applications once they become eligible for a free license.   My question is, can I insist on interest? I understand statutory 8% interest is only an award if a judge  (at a county court etc) allows it. As I received the refund without going to court, I guess I cannot insist on that interest. However, I hope to proceed to make this scandal more public and seek the interest on his behalf.   Any ideas gratefully received.

    • I came across this discussion recently and just wanted to give my experience of A Shade Greener that may help others regarding their boiler finance agreement.

We had a 10yr  finance contract for a boiler fitted July 2015.

After a summer of discontent with ASG I discovered that if you have paid HALF the agreement or more you can legally return the boiler to them at no cost to yourself. I've just returned mine the feeling is liberating.

It all started mid summer during lockdown when they refused to service our boiler because we didn't have a loft ladder or flooring installed despite the fact AS installed the boiler. and had previosuly serviced it without issue for 4yrs. After consulting with an independent installer I was informed that if this was the case then ASG had breached building regulations,  this was duly reported to Gas Safe to investigate and even then ASG refused to accept blame and repeatedly said it was my problem. Anyway Gas Safe found them in breach of building regs and a compromise was reached.

A month later and ASG attended to service our boiler but in the process left the boiler unusuable as it kept losing pressure not to mention they had damaged the filling loop in the process which they said was my responsibilty not theres and would charge me to repair, so generous of them! Soon after reporting the fault I got a letter stating it was time we arranged a powerflush on our heating system which they make you do after 5 years even though there's nothing in the contract that states this. Coincidence?

After a few heated exchanges with ASG (pardon the pun) I decided to pull the plug and cancel our agreement.

The boiler was removed and replaced by a reputable installer,  and the old boiler was returned to ASG thus ending our contract with them. What's mad is I saved in excess of £1000 in the long run and got a new boiler with a brand new 12yr warranty.

You only have to look at TrustPilot to get an idea of what this company is like.

    • Dazza a few months ago I discovered a good friend of mine who had ten debts with cards and catalogues which he was slavishly paying off at detriment to his own family quality of life, and I mean hardship, not just absence of second holidays or flat screen TV's.

I wrote to all his creditors asking for supporting documents and not one could provide any material that would allow them to enforce the debt.

As a result he stopped paying and they have been unable to do anything, one even admitted it was unenforceable.

If circumstances have got to the point where you are finding it unmanageable you must ask yourself why you feel the need to pay.  I guarantee you that these companies have built bad debt into their business model and no one over there is losing any sleep over your debt to them!  They will see you as a victim and cash cow and they will be reluctant to discuss final offers, only ways to keep you paying with threats of court action or seizing your assets if you have any.

They are not your friends and you owe them no loyalty or moral duty, that must remain only for yourself and your family.

If it was me I would send them all a CCA request.   I would bet that not one will provide the correct response and you can quite legally stop paying them until such time as they do provide a response.   Even when they do you should check back here as they mostly send dodgy photo copies or generic rubbish that has no connection with your supposed debt.

The money you are paying them should, as far as you are able, be put to a savings account for yourself and as a means of paying of one of these fleecers should they ever manage to get to to the point of a successful court judgement.  After six years they will not be able to start court action and that money will then become yours.

They will of course pursue you for the funds and pass your file around various departments of their business and out to third parties.

Your response is that you should treat it as a hobby.  I have numerous files of correspondence each faithfully organised showing the various letters from different DCA;s , solicitors etc with a mix of threats, inducements and offers.   It is like my stamp collection and I show it to anyone who is interested!

The truth is,from the complainants who have posted with their stories of the service they have received, together with information thats been unearthed by contact with regulatory bodies-it would seem fairly conclusive that concerns raised throughout this thread have turned out to be valid.

Rules and regulations are in place to protect consumers from those who seek to exploit the reclaims and debt cleanse markets.

CAG makes no apologies for bringing such examples into the spotlight and reporting those who engage in it without proper licensing,or concern for its customers.

Sometimes the truth can be hard to bear-but theres no hiding from the regulators.

Those who take their chances in avoiding compliance of their responsibilities, can not complain when they are discovered.

There can be no excuses-end of.

I cannot understand why these companies don't broadcast their 'successes' loudly! They always seem to refer to 'confidentiality reasons' but quite honestly, they could alter names of successful cases, but it seems none of them want to do so.

This is very disturbing. I think many people would like answers.

c123 - It would be interesting to know what claims either Tate-Lloyd or the firm who introduced you to them made in terms of what outcome you could expect if you used their services; whether or not they said that success was guaranteed (or not), and what the potential consequences of a failure were.

Did you receive any documentation at all?

Have Tate-Lloyd offered a refund?

After sending all correspondence from Tate-Lloyd to Misitry of Justice, claims regaulation department, they have come back to me and told me there is no way that this process can work! They have mislead and given false information, we are not within our rights to withhold payments to creditors. The advice i was given is to contact the creditors to explain what's happened, apologise and offer an interim payment and discuss payment options if in difficulty.

I think it is obvious that Tate-Lloyd are an absolute shambles, they are not solicitors and the process is unachievable and a [problem]. I know they sound reassuring when you speak to someone but don't be fooled into believing the rubish they tell you. I too fell for it and have now fallen into arrears with my creditors.

Give this comapny and other like it a miss and look at other options of sorting debts out.

Hello Everyone.

I recently took part, in an online thread regarding credit card eradication and a particular company whose initials are "TL".

I allowed this company to try and clear off 3 current credit card debts, Fortunately for me I have continued to pay the monthly payments where as some of the other contributors have not, this has apparantly left them with late payment defaults on their credit files, which I believe will hinder any future Credit applications.

I also read with interest the comments posted by Caroline 2009, who states that she has had two credit cards cleared.

Anyway I need some advice.

If I continue to pay my monthly payments even though I have , or correction TL have issued the same company with a sworn affidavit, basically saying that I beleive the account to be in dispute, then can the credit card company, close my account and demand outstanding balances in full?

Does anyone know exactly what the sworn affidavits are actually asking the credit card companies for, and to what ends, is it the case that if a credit card company cannot , say for example produce the original signed agreement, then that agreement becomes null and void, and hence the debt becomes unenforceable and becomes a cleared debt?

Or are they asking for a number of copies of relevent documents and if they all cant be provided then again the debt is non enforceable and becomes null and void?

I currently have a clean credit report and above all else wish for it to stay that way.

Have I been led up the garden path by both the cmuk and tl and paid £275 for the privelege?

Finally does anyone know of one instance, and can prove that by actual credit card letters or confirmations that all outstanding monies have been cleared by adopting this type of procedure.

Finally and this is the actual prompt for posting this thread, I have once again tried to contact TL on 01792 466792, also Natasha T on 07837700821, and finally cmuk and guess what, all numbers are unobtainable by one means or another.

Replies will be appreciated

I have posted several threads on here and have been looking at other posts- myself, a colleague, a family memeber and friend all undertook this process and all have had endless problems trying to get hold of them.

The Ministry of Justice, claims regulation department have told my that this process definitley doesn't work and all you can hope for is you fee back if you write to them, this is also a long shot.

I'm afraid that it looks like we've all been lead up the garden path and you're lucky you didn't stop paying you're monthly payment unlike me. I am now trying to sort out the arrears!

I have heard that Tate-Lloyd have split, and the firm is no longer practising. Natasha Tate is now working in a call centre. What has happened to all their clients?
