The cartel group are advertising again to get people out of their credit cards, car finance etc....

Anyone had any dealings with this company?

Couple of people at work are using them, and have been very happy with them at the moment - they dont promise the world, but advise they can do all the work for you and get your debt written off.

All feedback welcome before I give them a ring.

Ooooooo fast response there - is the reason not to touch them because of their fees or becuase they dont do what they say they are going to.

The people at work say that once their debt is written off then they pay cartel 30% of the debt - so if they had a 10k balance, they pay cartel 3k - is this right?

And if so, why would paying 3k instead of 10k be a bad thing?

Sorry if I sound daft -- but reading these forums - i have started doing the same thing as Cartel as myself, and hope I get my cards wiped etc...

A worrying thing I have noticed on 'some' threads is that some people stop giving advice when it gets 'dodgy' - i read one the other day, where people were giving advise for around 4 months, and then when a 'tough' letter was sent from a lender - it all went quite (unless it was dealt by PM).

Thanks for the warnings though guys :-)

Do you know that on CAG when you win you pay yourself 100% of the claim. No one takes a cut and that £3k would be yours.

What do you mean you have done the same thing as them? You are charging people money?

Did you help or draw attention to this to site team? Can you link it here so that Site team can help them now?

Thanks for the warnings though guys :-)

Hope the bit in red helps. Maroondevo and myself charge you 0% so your claim, your choice, and your money to give away to that company if you want to.

Sorry - no i meant i am starting to do what Cartel does with the help of these forum users - no i dont mean i help people and charge them....sorry - bad english!

So all in all, they are a ledgit company that are taking advantage of getting people their money back etc....They do nothing wrong apart from charge huge commissions.....

If that's the case I will just wave my settlements etc in my mates faces after they have paid their final fees.

Thanks yourbank - you mind me pm'ing you with my claims links please for a nosey at them....

Again - thank you.

I do mind. I won't look at claims management companies as there are very few I haven't heard of and quite frankly it would be waste of a PM.

millmerman,

Don't see why you can't start new threads with each of your claims so we can all have a nosey at them :)

One of the site rules...........

* Offering to advise members by PM or email without good reason - If it is felt that a subject is "sensitive" and would be better discussed off-forum, we ask that members contact a member of the site team BEFORE asking for contact details. This rule is in place to protect our members from claims touts, and also to ensure that any advice given is open to debate, qualification, and where necessary, correction.

Maroondevo,

"* Offering to advise members(point of order, the PM was not to advice to me which is the context so the OP hasn't broken any rules. I have never been a member but a user but i will recheck the rules again as the term appears to have changed) by PM or email without good reason - If it is felt that a subject is "sensitive" and would be better discussed off-forum, we ask that members contact a member of the site team BEFORE asking for contact details. This rule is in place to protect our members from claims touts, and also to ensure that any advice given is open to debate, qualification, and where necessary, correction."

The OP asked and I declined his kind invite.

Yourbank, where did I say YOU were offering advice ?

Also where did I say the op had broken any rules ?

I was pointing out to the op, that any advice given or taken by pm without first contacting 'site team' was not a smart move.

Regarding the 'rule change' I just cut and pasted, so any changes have got sam trout to do with me

Member/user issue is fine as I rechecked rules.

The bit about advice was read by me in the context of the thread to be suggesting that if the OP did PM me he would be breaching site rule quoted, which clearly he wouldn't as I certainly wouldn't class it as any form of advice. Thanks for clarifying post though.

Morning guys - sorry about yesterday and the confusion.

Summing up, what I meant to say and much has already been answered...

1) Cratel - compnay - thumbs up, thumbs down?

2) Is what they are doing dodgy - or just making a boat load of money out of a loophole in the law.

3) This site is great, I decided to take the forums advice and start doing myself (meaning doing what Cratel are doing (not for money - not for anyone - for me - thats what I meant)

4) The pm thing was a dumb move - i meant could anyone look at http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-debt-issues/193363-yorkshire-bank-credit-card.html and let me know my next steps please.

5) Will find the thread - very sweeping statement in regards it goes quite when people seem to get stuck - and that's when i meant maybe people are being PM'd with advice - I dunno - will find this thread and update when i get it again....

Thanks all again for the feedback etc, and sorry if anyone was mislead by me - not my intentions.
