hi guys ive been on the site about a week now just really trying to work out exactly what UKCPS are about ive heard a lot about stupid parking tickets and no one paying up.

well i recieved a ticket from our jolly good friends last week, heres the downlow, i was actually moving out of my apartment at the time i had permission to park on the premises as i have done all year i parked near my door for easy access as the car park is miles away from the door and i needed to move big items, within 5 minutes sum lil sod had slapped on a parking ticket and legged it before i even got downstairs, i was fuming as how else can i move out.

they put on the fine i have to pay £60 cos i was parked out of a marked bay and they also put the location wrong, when i rung up the guy was nasty on the phone and told us it doesnt matter and hung up on my boyfriend, now its not a spelling mistake its a whole location mistake so is that void?

also i had permission to be parked there so i wasnt trespassing, i know theres signs but i was there 20 mins and he could tell my car was full of items. we've tried ringing them to talk but the same guy answers over and over and is rude and obknoxious and his answer to everything is -

'do what you've gota do we'll take you to court'

could someone help me with this, i cant afford to lose £60 especially when i did nothing wrong, isnt this illegal, can we not do anything about this?

oh yeh and we also asked him what evidence he has if hes gunna take me to court as he needs proof and he told us he has photos even though on the ticket it says they dont have photographic evidence only verbal. :/

....and he also says hes registered to the data protection act, can you even be registered to an act cos i didnt think you could? :)

They won't take you to court. It's a [problem].

• do not pay

• do not contact them

ignore the 4 or 5 threatening letters they will send you

• then they will give up and go away

Their invoice is unenforceable for plenty of reasons. The guy on the end of the phone sounds like ****.

Just ignore them.

thanks yer he is, i rung to ask if he had a complaints department he told me to send it in with my payment and my dispute so i think i just wont, it cant be a proper company as all companies have complaints departments i get the feeling its one sad little man sat in his garage praying that cheque lands on his doorstep. it just angers me that people are allowed to get away with this especially in a student accomodation its disgusting.

thanks for the advice again, much appreciated :)

As above-its a [problem]. Ignore them and do not enter into any correspondence with them as all you will get back is exactly what you had on the phone in letter form! They will probably pass it on to thier DCA though and you will recieve a few letters from them. After approx 5-6 they will give up.

Send in payment with your complaint! Priceless!

Indeed. I saw this sort of thing in another thread recently where in order to go through thier 'appeals' process you had to send in payment also!

thanks, i know, the guy on the phone seems to think were stupid, my boyfriend rung him and asked him about the envidence and stuff and after he told him he was a debt collector and knew legal stuff the guy got even nastier so we decided to just leave him to tantrum in his pretend office with his pretend company lol.

he also said he followed data protection act but had no problem sharing my details with my boyfriend and didnt even ask my permission i think thats a breach, we actualy rung him just to get a laugh out of it cos he talks so much crap :|

after been on here though i know now to totally ignore him and his lowsy attempt of a company and he isn't getting a penny from me.

it also said on his website that the company was running solely on the charges they collect so :/ looks like he mite be behind on rent this month.

good job i can laugh about this joker and hope anybody else who deals with ukcps can laugh too

Complete Mickey Mouse invoice. Unfortunately, a number of individuals who run/work for PPC's are often ex convicts or of dubious background. This is my opinion and it does not apply to all. Because of this, trying to reason with them is a fruitless excercise and they just think you are a mug. Forget about them - just more knuckle draggers.
