Daughter went out last night to a cinema/restaurant complex in Romford, The Brewery. Did not think parking charges applied at 9.45pm. Hence, did not buy a ticket to park. Received a PCN from MET parking services, for £50 if paid within 14 days. What a rip off!! DOes she have to pay or admit to this or ignore it? What is this company's history for chasing payment & do they give up or get nasty?

You were lucky it was a private company and not an LA who can issue penalties at any time. The reason you were lucky is because a private parking company issues nothing more than legally uneforceable invoices; therefore, feel free to go ahead and ignore :)

MET-ignore and ignore some more. The letters you/your daughter will get will be a little nasty but once you read the threads on here they will seem quite amusing when you find out how PPCs/DCAs work!

They will follow a predictable pattern- MET may send one more letter before passing it on to thier DCA. They will send 2/3 letters (approx) and then give up. You will get all sorts of unfounded (and most often illegal) threats-all hot air really- but intimidating if you are uneducated.

Keep us posted.

They might have 'photo evidence', but that doesn't make their charge enforceable. It's just a tool they use to make them seem official and make you think you have to pay.

Ignore them. Writing back will only put you on their hooked list and make them write to you for longer.

i just received a letter for overstaying in a mc donalds car park they sent me a fone for £50 and sent photo evidence of me coming in to the car park and leaving

its from met parking services aswel shall i ignore this or write back to them?

Ignore MET and do not enter into any correspondence with them. What you have is an invoice and not a fine. Photo evidence makes no difference.

Check out the links below to see how MET operate. The McDonalds [problem] is quite old now ;-)
