Maybe your son could ring the DVLA and ask what alternative documents they would accept, given his current issues? HB -
I see Amsterdam has confirmed its taken over from London as the major european share market brexiters say: Who cares about European shares when we have UK companies like Nissan, EDF and the like (sic)? Why should Brexiters care? - well, because a lot of the fall in London trading, and rise in EU market trading is because since January, US Financiers need to trade EU shares through EU markets rather than the lighter regulated (allow more shysterism) London - Strange as some of the largest US financial money barons funded Brexit campaigns. Only benefit to the US barons is damage to what WAS one of their largest most powerful competitors outweighs the benefits they had of protection from EU regs in using London to trade? Analysts expect Frankfurt to be the final winner, with Dublin and Paris also expected to gain massively from London losses, further reducing Londons importance. "The total of 440 relocations is higher than anticipated and well above the 269 in New Financial’s 2019 survey. New Financial believes the real number is well over 500." "Some 7,400 jobs have moved from Britain or been created at new hubs in the EU, the study said. Bankers have told Reuters that some staff moves have been delayed due to COVID-19 travel restrictions." https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/amsterdam-has-overtaken-london-as-europes-biggest-trading-centre/ See also MUCH earlier in this and preceding thread.

They dont issue National insurance cards anymore so we have the letter that came which they have said is not good enough as its not the card. Still cant understand why it has to be a card not the official letter. -
Hi BankFodder. Thank you for the draft. I think you've covered the points well. Also do you think we should add any of the information regarding their giving the police my information and making false accusations against me? Or shall we just leave that to the police in case they contact me again? Also I tried calling the ICO yesterday but they were closed. I will try again on Monday when their offices reopen. Also you think I should go to the police station and file a report? Or should the letter I posted filling out the document they sent (with the attached hire agreement Kuick gave me and the handwritten letter explaining what happened) be enough? Is it possible to follow up as I don't want the police to send me a summons as they mentioned in the letter they originally sent regarding the accident that was meant to have happened? Thanks again guys. You have been extremely helpful.

Thanks dx. I'm struggling to find the right letter to make a F&F offer on there. Any problems with using the National Debtline one? https://www.nationaldebtline.org/sample-letters/full-and-final-settlement-offer/? No, the od isn't with Halifax any more. Thankfully my Mum is out of it and has switched bank accounts to First direct. The article she read was: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges/

Post in Court Claim Against Hermes - item sent via Packlink was lost/tampered with **WON at mediation full amount **
jj58 posted a post in a topic,
Hi @BankFodder
Sorry for only updating you now, but after your guidance with submitting the claim it was pretty straight forward and I didn't want to unnecessarily waste your time. Especially with this guide you wrote here, so many thanks for that
So I issued the claim on day 15 and they requested more time to respond.
They took until the last day to respond and denied the claim, unsurprisingly saying my contract was with Packlink and not with them.
I opted for mediation, and it played out very similarly to other people's experiences.
In the first call I outlined my case, and I referred to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 as the reason to why I do in fact have a contract with them.
In the second call the mediator came back with an offer of the full amount of the phone and postage £146.93, but not the court costs. I said I was not willing to accept this and the mediator came across as a bit irritated that I would not accept this and said I should be flexible. I insisted that the law was on my side and I was willing to take them to court. The mediator went back to Hermes with what I said.
In the third call the mediator said that they would offer the full amount. However, he said that Hermes still thought that I should have taken the case against Packlink instead, and that they would try to recover the court costs themselves from Packlink.
To be fair to them, if Packlink wasn't based in Spain I would've made the claim against them instead. But since they are overseas and the law lets me take action against Hermes directly, it's the best way of trying to recover the money.
So this is a great win. Thank you so much for your help and all of the resources available on this site. It has helped me so much especially as someone who does not know anything about making money claims.
Many thanks, stay safe and have a good Christmas!
