I was a director of a company until February 2008 at which time I resigned.

I have now been informed by solicitirs that there are arrears on the rent and have recicved a notice under Landlord and Tenant (Coveneants) Act 1995 depanding payment.

I was unaware of any arrears. Indeed it appears that the landlord allowed an arrears position by agreeing to a weekly payment plan (instead of in advance).

Does the Landlord have any obligation to inform me that he is allowing an arrears position (and therefore an obligation to me)?

Is there any way I can avoid this? I have had no interst or control over the company sice my resignation.

Thanks. I'm very worried as I do not have the means to pay.

If you're not registered as a director any longer Search for UK and Ireland Director & Company Credit Reports with Companies House Information I can't see how you could be held liable. Also I was under the impression that the whole point of the formation of a Ltd company was to give directors limited liability.
