Hi all,

Like an idiot I got involved with payday loans when I was broke. Now I'm earning I want to pay these back. I am due to pay £350 to PDE on 24/03 and I don't have it. I owe £570 to P2P as well and have agreed repayments of £285 over 2 months with them which I think I might be able to make.

I have just rang PDExpress and they were horrible. I was asking for bank details to pay them back and he wouldn't give them me. Finally managed to get them and he said if I don't pay £350 next week they will add a £70 fine to my account.

Can they do this?

I plan to make weekly payments to clear this debt but obviously £410 is a more than I took out!

Never going to get into this mess again!

Help anyone. What is the course of action if I struggle to make the payments?

Thanks

Dave

Dave - I too was slightly foolish and desperate to take out a few Payday Loans - with P4P and Payday UK and Quick Quid - when I found out I couldnt afford to pay I went to Citizens advice and they sent letters on my behalf to all 3 suggesting I would pay what I could i.e £20 - £40 per month and all 3 readily agreed? They have to accept some minimum payment and as the letters cam from CAB they seemed to do the trick? - Try them out - they have been brilliant for me - I also had numerous unsecured debts and all have accepted minimal payments.!!

Good Luck

Thanks mate. Did you phone them or go into your local branch. Also did you get any defaults on your credit file?

Dave I arranged a meeting with their Financial Expert as my debts were massive - I suppose I buried my head in the sand etc - CAB were really brilliant , no judgement and lots of help including numerous followups to see how I was doing - they managed to arrange minimal payments with every single one of my unsecured debts ...beleive me there were loads!! loans, credit cards and Payday stuff - I would really reccommend them - the thing is - I couldnt sleep and was getting sicker by the minute until they helped me - I felt like the whole strees was off my back as I walked out of the office??

Let me know how you get on.....

Also my credit was pretty much shot already hence the move towards Payday loans!!! but I never got a CCJ or default on the file

Pounds Till Payday are a BIG nuisance, I owe them money too and they harass me via email several times a week. They can go and whistle for their money as far as I am concerned.

At the end of the day Dave, they have to accept whatever you can afford as they cant have what you haven't got and make sure that you don't offer an amount that is going to leave you struggling for money.

Check out the threads below for updates on the DCA's that I am dealing with.

GE Money/CL Finance/Howard Cohen & Co - AND - Aktiv Kapital/Appleton Massey Solicitors - IN COURT

Cabot x 2 for Vanquis & Hitatchi - DEFAULTED ON CCA REQUEST

Lowell for Capital One - CANCELLED DEBT!! Trying to get Default removed now

Moorcroft x 2 for Halifax Loan & Bank Account - RETURNED TO HALIFAX

Wescot for Halifax Bank Account - RETURNED TO HALIFAX

Cap Quest for Argos Card - RETURNED TO ARGOS

PTP will pass to Clarity ultimately. They are easy to deal with and they are very likely to accept a small monthly figure. Just mention that you have taken professional advice when they send you their first e-mail from their collections dept.

  • 5 months later...

Hi - I have also got into a HUGE mess due to my partner being out of work for a while and then up splitting up and took out loans with PTP,Quick Quid, PDUK,PDE,Wageday advance,1month,uncle buck, towercapital and mr lender. I started of with 2 but then then got another to pay of one of the previous ones and so forth. I have been paying a rollover fee on all of them except PTP which i pay in full every month but then have to re-loan off then to live as between them all they take all my wage. I just dont no how to get out of this mess and it worrys me sick and keeps me up at night. I would appreciate any help and advice as i'm at my wits end.I have consider just not paying but i dont want them to add lots of late fees on or get into a bigger mess then i'm already in.

If anyone can help i'd be very grateful.

Thanks In Advance
