Hi Guys,

Just looking for some advice or at least some support!

Basically I got in trouble over Xmas. Bills arrived and gifts needed buying, followed by three birthdays in Jan. But guess that's by the by.

Anyway, I rang MBNA to say I couldn't meet the full payment of £180 this month because of XYZ. I had paid them £100 online, but rang them to explain the sit. uy on the other end seemed understanding and said he would freeze the charges for a month as a gesture of good will. Great I thought, a credit card company being sympathetic. However, since then it appears this didn't happen (should have got confirmation in writing). I've been getting threatening letters, my debt has been passed over to AEGIS who call me 20 odd times a day. After some research I sent them a budget sheet, got a reply asking me to contact one of their 'specialists' I called MBNA who said they had no record of this agreement and suggested I got another job! They refuse to freeze my charges and interest, even with the budget sheet. I wrote to them once again after speaking with the CAB who provided me with a letter to send them until my appointment. They replied stating that unless I sent a budget sheet they couldn't help. Argh!!! Already had!!!

So now my charges have gone from £180 to over £400, my partner is on the verge of leaving me because I hid it from him, thinking it would be ok and I could sort it. I can't sleep, I've lost nearly a stone with the stress and I'm not far off feeling suicidal (I've been on anti-depressants for 10 years). And that option is looking more and more tempting. I've let myself down, my partner down and I hate myself.

I just want them to help. The interest on the account is working out as £160 a month and I pay £180 so I'm getting nowhere fast. It's not like they haven't made money from me already. I just want this sorted. I'm hoping the CAB will help but I'm not seeing them until next week and in the meantime I need any advice I can get.

Very sorry if this post is messy and rambling, I've probably missed things out. I'm just all over the place at the moment.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
