Hi all,

this is my first post here so sorry if it is in the wrong forum.

My problem is in April 2007 I had some plumbing work done in my kitchen.

He was recommended to myself via a family member so stupidly we did not ask for a quote before works began.

Whilst installing the kitchen I needed to get a second plumber to finish removing pipes as the orginal guy couldnt do it.

Once the kitchen was installed the original plumber then returned to reconnect the water and gas hob.

After completing this work, I asked him how much it would be and he informed me it would be about £210.

I telephoned him the next day asking him why it was so much as in total he was in my house no longer than 45minutes, and used hardly any materials. I asked for a itemised invoice from him, which he agreed to.

That was the last I heard from him and never recieved any bill.

So almost a year and nine months later I recieved an invoice for £210!

Does anyone know whether I am now obligated to pay for this as it has been such a long time.

Thanks for taking your time reading!

Any advice would be helpful.

You are still obliged to pay for the work the plumber has done but equally you are entitled to a breakdown of how he has come to this figure before paying.

Thanks for such a swift reply!

Is there no legal time for a invoice to be sent out?

It just seems strange that once I queried the amount due I never heard for him....until now
