    • So what time did you buy the permit and what time did you arrive at the barrier where this happened??
    • Have they referred to a judgment in  Dubai? If not dont request it.   They are not interested what your financial circumstances are...so do not disclose them.

    • Thanks guys. So using the form that you have provided...   I am ticking box C to say that I dont know whether I owe the debt, box G to say that I am seeking legal advice and Box I asking for copies of the credit agreement, full summary of account detailing all interest and charges, details of the interest calculation, details of the administration charges, a copy of the notice of assignment and a copy of the judgement obtained in Dubai? Does all that sound right?   I was thinking that it might be in my interests to show them my income/expenditure as they will see that I am a single mum, working part-time and receiving benefits?
    • We have looked at the ticket options for the exact time travelled.   it is not possible to buy an on peak ticket at the time I left the departure station   There is no option   There is only one option.  The cheaper fare.  that is all I knew!!  The cheap fare.   So when I arrive and they detain me, threaten me with fines and force me to pay the higher 50% more fare. I found that very stressful as I suffer from anxiety anyway. I also would have had to pay a fine if I did not have enough cash in my pocket. (I found later that I needed my cash in town)   The box office confirmed they were overcharging at the turn-styles.   I walk back and tell them they over charged me again.   The ' turn-style crew '  agree to a refund , without checking. Thats odd isnt it !  They didn't need to check or to confirm. They knew I was entitled and agree to a refund.   Why did they not say.  "well, we need to check that first!!"  And if they can check. why did they not check before?    Then I complain that a refund is not adequate by itself to prevent this from happening again,  Yet....   Although a refund is imminent as they agreed. The supervisor again tries to blame me for not buying the ticket at the departure station.  Even though I had a permit to travel.   So, i hope you see what I am saying here? Do you see how hardcore they are to pass blame and fine people!!  Who trained these people?  Am I really expected to complain to the same company who oversees this nonsense?   He then again lied, yes again, trying to inspire fear for a fine. Claiming I missed my first chance to buy and said that the permit machine is always on, that it is irrelevant and useless and that I should have paid at the touch screen ticket computer, that it takes cash ( this is wrong!!). (Previously he had smirked saying it is his home station that he uses it all the time). I said that it was not true, that  i could not pay in full and it is not my fault, he said it was my fault and when he could not lie any more, without warning, had me thrown out the station by security with no refund and I was told I could not even catch my train home!!!   Amazing!    They did everything to fob me off to overcharge me.  There is no cash facility at my home station, only the faulty permit ticket machine that seems to only take one type of coin,  that thankfully.......thankfully I had that particular coin, by chance, as the pound coins would not work..they were spat out. Else I would have been in serious serious trouble with these people. There are much higher fines without a permit to travel.   (Important side note regards the elderly. As an adult with reasonably strong hands, even I find it ' very hard '  to remove the permit ticket made of thick card, it is very tough to do. How do elderly people remove the ticket or even a child? I really cannot see that happening. It really is that bad at my station)   regards to a question above, I am not sure what a z ticket is, I have an M on mine.?   We have read the code of conduct and there are multiple references to the staff helping people get the right ticket. and considering there was only one ticket for a return that day, that should not have been a hard thing to do, at all.   Yet they have a button they can press to over charge  Who programmed that into their machine and told them to press it?   Thank you for reading.

This is the Old Court House, Whitchurch:

Buckinghamshire Family History Society - The Old Court House, Whitchurch

I found it on a family history site, does anyone have a better photo? It shows up on Google maps as a long building, and there's at least one hairdresser's at the same address.

Has anyone actually heard from Call Serve, Credit Security Ltd, or 'Credsec' recently?

Received a letter from them, anything?

The Old Court House, Whitchurch Bucks is a long, low antique building, that appears to have several shops trading in it. Here's a bigger photo:

Priory Hotel, Whitchurch:: OS grid SP8020 :: Geograph British Isles - photograph every grid square!

It appears that all of the above DCAs were in fact the same person, who appears to have turned a garage at the back of the building into an office!?

Look at the document here, No. 5, Page 2:

Development Control Committee Applications

Now, he's listed as a CSA member, but his company accounts are overdue. The Callserve website - which was the same as Credit Security Ltd bar name and slightly different phone number - has gone.

I sent them a CCA request several months back and received absolutely ziltch........:(

So I thought after a while that I would have some fun and tried to phone them. I could have waited for ages, the usual 'all our operators are busy' but I gave up in the end.

So then sent them another letter telling them they could pi** o** from now on ;) . I've still not heard a thing from them:p

Interesting hey:)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes to do a bit of 'DCA Stalking' when I get a letter from a new company!

Credit Security were one of them at the end of last year, they started sending increasingly threatening letters on behalf of Wescot, who were in turn sending letters on behalf of Halifax.

Love the research (hadn't thought of going down the planning application route), I always start with Companies House (the Law Society for DCA solicitors), then google DCA address to see who shares the 'impressive' address, I like to finish with a quick fly over their office on google earth. It is always nice to know that the 'big nasty DCA' is actually some old git in a converted garage (or cowshed as in Marlins case).

Good luck with the DCA stalking

Very interesting ageless. :)

The letters DCAs send are meant to scare the wits out of you, so it's always worth checking them out through Google searches.

I like to think of it as a DCA 'reverse trace'. :p

I think it's a shame to run a DCA under cover of such a beautiful building, in a very picturesque part of the country.

A hairdresser - okay. Indian restaurant - okay. Former/possible hotel - okay.

But 'debt buyer/threat monkey' - eeewww!:D

Just for completeness, I usually look at the OFT Consumer Credit Licence database.

With the usual DCA smoke and mirrors, we see that Credit Security has a licence, but Call Serve's has lapsed. However, Credit Security use Call Serve as a trading name. I'm not sure of the implications of this; if a business trades under another business's name, that is 'passing off', though of course Credit Security are not going to sue themselves (not even a DCA is that stupid...). They have declared the Old Court House address as their registered office, principal place of business and correspondence adddress.

However, Credit Security's entry on the Information Commissioners Office database makes no mention of Call Serve, though a company is obliged to provide all the names under which it trades to Information Commissioners Office. The address they give is:

CREDSEC HOUSE

OXFORD ROAD

STONE

AYLESBURY

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

HP17 8PL

Overall, then, a standard DCA setup - slack drills in admin and compliance.

Interesting. It's curious that quite a few DCAs feel the need to do other things; perhaps debt collection isn't as profitable as the pompous arrses of the CSA make it out to be.

Credit Security and Call Serve are the same company operating from the same address as above, The Old Court House in Whitchurch. Both companies moved to this address beginning of 2008 from the old address of Credsec House, Oxford Road, Stone shown on other searches.

Credit Security and Call Serve have different telephone numbers but you go through to the same callcentres. Each company I think deals with different accounts and different clients they try and collect for. I think both companies never buy debts either, they just work on behalf of their clients trying to collect the debts. They therefore will never carry out legal action themselves from my experience of them and if no money is collected the accounts will be returned to the clients.

I have been dealing with these as well. I have had numerous letter from them. But everytime i call I get the "All operators are twidling their thumbs whilst watching funny videos on youtube. Your call is blah blah blah" or words to that effect and everytime I try to get to their website, there is nothing there and I am recommended to visit an internet service provider or something similiar.

If I owe the amount, then I am willing to make payments to pay this off. However, I cannot get hold of them to arrange for payment!!! The last letter says, and I quote:

"The documents for legal action are now being prepared by my department and if judgment is obtained, this could:

COST YOU MONEY

PREVENT YOU OBTAINING FURTHER CREDIT

Send a payment IMMEDIATELY to stop this action being taken.

Yours faithfully (followed by a squiggle)"

Can you advise my next step? Thanks in advance!

I asked:

Sent: 23 February 2009

Subject: Enquiry about Company Nos. 00922180, 04559911, 03745557

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm writing to ask about the listed address for the above 3 companies, which is:

THE OLD COURT HOUSE

HIGH STREET

WHITCHURCH

BUCKS

HP22 4JS

This is the address the company uses as listed with Companies House, but I do not believe they occupy this property. They also have another address, below:

CALL SERVE LIMITED

Credsec House

Oxford Road

Stone

AYLESBURY

HP17 8PL

Credsec House appears to be for sale as a freehold property.

Please could you confirm whether this Company is still trading?

Companies House reply:

Thank you for your email.

A registered office is the address at which the Statutory Registers of the Company must be held. and made available for public inspection, unless notice is given otherwise. It is also the address to which all official notifications are

sent. The company does not need to own or occupy the building.

Accounts for Call Serve Limited are overdue. They should have been filed by 30/11/2008. I cannot confirm whether the company is trading.

We will not be intimidated.
